Weekly Updates 1.16.23

What a wonderful, restful weekend. It was cold here in sunny Florida and I spent the majority of the weekend bundled up at home or at my son’s soccer tournament. Those early games in 39 degree weather is something this Chicago girl is no longer used to. Not only did I have to find some old sweaters, but I’ve also had to switch out some of my moisturizers to better cover the winter dryness!

And the Jaguars! Looking at my IG feed, at least half of my friends here were at the game - and what a game it was.

I want to focus on emotional wellness this month. As we move into the week, how can we incorporate a little of that into our daily routine?  Emotional wellness means managing our emotions, digging deep into our triggers (what buried hurt is it bringing up?), practicing boundaries and not projecting our inner values onto others (seek first to understand!).  I find that taking a few minutes to journal out my thoughts and meditate each day carries over into my personal and professional life and makes me more patient and less reactive at work.

Questions for the week: Where can I give love? What brings me joy and how can I add more into my day? What is something I can laugh at about today?
